Below are my personal favorite tools for bloggers, business owners and Virtual Assistants. And, keep checking back, because I’m always finding new and awesome tools and resources to add to the list!

Creative Market is AWESOME! You can buy (or sell) all sorts of great, high-quality items- fonts, logo kits, brushes, themese and more!



If you don’t have a scheduler, you need to get one. What is a scheduler? They are these awesome tools that help you steamline your social media accounts! I use them for my clients and they truly make a world of a difference in figuring out what does and doesn’t work on certain platforms.

For Pinterest, I highly recommend Tailwind and BoardBooster.

Pro-tip: If you don’t know how to really make Pinterest work for your blog, you NEED to check out the amazing Pinterest Strategy Guide from The Busy Budgeter! I have gotten some seriously excellent results from using her methods! 

Tailwind is amazing and simple- a great way to schedule the same pin to multiple boards at once. With easy to use and read analytics, you can’t go wrong!

And, while BoardBooster can be used for scheduling, I LOVE the secret board & looping features! On and see a bunch of pins you’d like to repin…but don’t want them to all go out at once? Pin them to the secret board and BoardBooster will repin them over time (goodbye looking like spam!)

Google Analytics all the way, baby! Make sure that your website is connected to GA so you can track all of your stats, set up goals and view your conversions (you can even see visitors in real time, which is super awesome)

Hosting Company:

You want a host that isn’t going to fail you. If they have bad customer service, or lousy up-times, it will affect your website. Do you want readers coming to a site that keeps freezing, or is only up half the time? Nope. Definitely not. I recommend both BlueHost and GoDaddy as awesome hosts.

Email Marketing:

When it comes to emails, you need something that’s easy- but will also show you analytics so you know what’s working. That’s why I love MailChimp. I have used them for years and have never had an issue. Designing a template and creating a campaign is easy-peasy and, if I ever need to talk to customer service, they are fast and friendly!

Free Images:

If you are just starting out, chances are you don’t want to spend all of your time taking the best shots for your images. But, you also realize how very important high quality images are for your site. That’s why I was SO excited to find out about public domain images and, especially- Pixabay and Pexels! These are two amazing sources with thousands of free images. Just make sure you check the licenses on the side of the page to be sure you can use them commercially/free of attribution/etc!

Paid Images (aka stock photos):

Ready to start paying for images? Or maybe you just need to get a better variety? These are the places I recommend you check out!

Photo Editing Software:

You want your pictures to look good. I highly recommend getting Adobe’s Photoshop. The plus side is that you no longer have to pay the hundreds out of pocket for the program– you can Photoshop CC and Lightoom CC for just $9.99/month!

Accounting Software:

It’s all fun and games until you have to pay taxes and you don’t have a record of what you spent or gained. My recommendation for this one is Quick Books Self Employed. It’s $5/month and everything automatically populates in, just leaving me to have to go in and review my purchases! They’ll even help you file your taxes through Turbo Tax. It seriously doesn’t get better than this.

Time Trackers:

I spent a lot of time looking for a good, reliable way to track the time I spend on projects for clients. After doing a lot of research (who knew it could take so much time to find a program to track time??!), I found Harvest Time Tracker and have been nothing but happy with it! What’s even better is you can use their free plan to start with, so you can work on purchasing a bigger plan as your business grows- not right off the bat. A Good Grammar Checker

We are humans, which means we will make grammar mistakes when writing! My absolute favorite tool for checking grammar is Grammarly! This amazing tool has free and paid versions and does a wonderful job of checking your grammar any time you write anything on the web (if you have the Chrome plugin). It’s by far the best grammar checker I’ve seen that works across all platforms. Read more here.
